Detailed Job Description
Utilizing multiple information systems and software (Slate, Campus Solutions, FileZilla, OnBase and five9 or similar systems), the Assistant Director of Operations will be responsible for the following:
  • Data and Records Management Functions and Decision Processing: Manage and lead enrollment processing for International enrollment, Transfer enrollment and Global campus enrollment. Will work closely with Senior Associate and be an integral part of domestic first year enrollment processing as well.
  • Supervision/Leadership: Direct supervisory responsibilities for multiple permanent full-time staff members including training, mentoring, performance appraisals and conflict resolution. They will also manage the operations workflow and prioritization of tasks and act on behalf of the Sr. Associate when they are not available.
  • Report Queries and Survey Management: Identifies and implements improvements, reports, new initiatives, account creation and permissions needed in the Admissions Information Systems (Slate) for UAO staff.
  • Admission Decision Review and Decision Making: Analyze and consider applicant admissibility over a multitude of independent and dependent factors.
  • Outreach and Recruitment Activities: inlcudng on campus recruitment events and webinar moderating.

Department/College Description
This position supports student recruitment and selection efforts in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions designed to satisfy Institute established freshman and transfer enrollment goals, including international and special populations.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree with at least five or more years of related experience

  • will demonstrate knowledge of or ability to learn state and federal laws and ethical principles of practice as outlined by the National Association of College Admissions Counselors.
  • must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to work with diverse populations.
  • must be computer literate and possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be highly flexible and able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy work environment that emphasizes measurable work outcomes.
  • A focus on helping students and families
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Promote inclusive behaviors among staff and uphold the RIT honor code
