Robert Half Financial Services is recruiting for a Director of Finance & Accounting role for a growing Broker Dealer firm located in midtown Manhattan. Our client requires a CPA and 10 years of Public and Private Accounting and Finance experience within a Broker Dealer or Private Equity/Investment firm. The role reports directly into the CFO, will be strategic, and covers Financial Accounting, Management Reporting, Treasury/Liquidity, Forecasting/Budgeting, Audit and Regulatory Filings. This role is hybrid remote requiring 2-3 days per week in the midtown Manhattan office. Responsibilities:StrategicDevelopment and implementation of financial strategies and planning.To provide proactive advise to the CFO and Finance teams on the business performance and financial controllershipIdentify and advise on ways in which the business can maximize the financial resources available to it.Responsible for the businesses approach to Risk Management, liaising with senior stakeholders to establish corporate and departmental strategic risks and translating these into activity that can be monitored through appropriate Performance Indicators and targets.Finance & AccountingFinancial controllership - of all Americas financial records. This will including data integrity of the ledger, working with operations and other teams to ensure timely receipt of trading and operational data to prepare financial records and other returns.Financial management reporting (Cost center reporting) – ensure Executive Committee members have sufficient operating / expense cost date for them and their teams and work with the Head of FP& A to follow up on action itemsFinancial forecasting - including modelling the operating businesses and the impact on the wider group.Assess the financial and reporting impact - of new Products and markets / entities, including advising on pricing and other analyticsManagement Information - Development of timely and accurate financial reporting to monitor the current and future needs of the business.Treasury and Liquidity Management Reporting – Assist the Head of Treasury and Capital Management report capital and liquidity positions and ongoing reporting requirements in conjunction with senior management. This requires the firm has sufficient liquidity to meet the ongoing needs for:- Operating Expense - operating requirements of the business as well as intra group capital requirements on a legal entity basis – this will include optimizing the firm’s own internal capital;- Trading capital – ensuring the firms surplus liquidity is maximized for value in accordance with the risk framework in conjunction with the Head of Treasury and Capital Management- Regulatory – ensuing capital monitoring and forecasting is place to ensure the business activities are within regulatory limits, including the development of monitoring systemsOwnership of all relevant statutory and regulatory audits - are completed and filed on / ahead of time. Financial regulatory filings – Ensure financial data / components of financial requests are completed on time ensure sufficient granularity that is repeatable on a regular basis.Prepare financial updates - to external trading partners and investors as required.
