We are actively seeking a Controller to join a growing Construction client in Poway, California. This role will involve managing our company's financial and operational management, including budgeting and accounting. It also includes establishing and maintaining internal financial management control systems and overseeing compliance regulations. The Controller will be instrumental in leading the coordination with CPA firms for external audit materials, financial reporting, and tax compliance. Responsibilities:• Develop and implement financial strategies, linked metrics, policies, priorities, and procedures in partnership with the Ownership Group.• Establish and maintain a motivated team in accordance to business needs and financial staffing standards.• Facilitate positive collaboration between departments to ensure financial transparency and business focus.• Develop procedures for continuous improvement of internal control systems.• Oversee the timely and accurate processing of transactions and accounting data.• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements regarding all financial functions.• Manage annual audits and auditor relations.• Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports of key financial and operational metric trends.• Initiate and optimize strategies to enhance cash flow and working capital positions.• Assess organizational performance against budgets with functional leaders and management team.• Oversee ongoing banking and bonding requirements.• Lead ERP systems update, deployment, and operation.• Ensure all employees comply with our safety culture and initiatives. Skills: • Proficiency in DCAA, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions, Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes, WIP - Work In Progress, Cost Accounting, Sage 300.
