The leadership position is responsible for an accounting department of 3. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. This permanent position is for a Controller who will work in the Colorado Springs, Colorado region. The ideal candidate would have a 4-year degree in accounting, 5 years of industry specific experience, and intermediate to advanced skills using MS Excel. Working knowledge of Sage Intacct would be a plus! Key responsibilities- Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners- Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities- Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals- Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time- Analyze deliverables of self and team to confirm they meet client expectations- Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis- Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
