Robert Half is Hiring an Accounting Clerk Near Fresno, CA
Tyler Houk (Practice Director) with Robert Half is looking to fill an Accounting Clerk role for a respectable company. In this role, you will be responsible for matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). The Accounting Clerk position is a permanent role in the Fresno, California, area.
Major responsibilities
- Support Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
- Reconcile discrepancies, and prepare correction documents as needed, by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts
- Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
- Use knowledge of expenditure codes and accounting codes to accurately code documents
- Manually or electronically post financial information
- General accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
- File vendor invoices and disbursements and match & file A/P invoices to support accounts payable
- Carry out other related duties and work on special projects as assigned
Requirements- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
- Foundational knowledge in journal entries
- Payable Invoices experience preferred
- AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
- Prior knowledge in Spreadsheet and ERP system
- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
