Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as an Accounting Clerk. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and providing support to the accounting department. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in governmental accounting and experience with financial services software.
Responsibilities:
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Assist with data entry of financial transactions into the accounting system
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
- Prepare and distribute invoices to clients
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Support the preparation of financial reports and statements
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to SOX compliance standards
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero, Workday, or Paychex
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to perform account reconciliations and identify discrepancies
- Familiarity with financial services processes and procedures
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
Qualifications:
- Previous experience 6 months to a year as an Accounting Clerk or similar role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
