Roadrunner Freight is Hiring a Remote Customer Service Representative

Critical Job Functions: The Customer Service Associate facilitates internal and external customer satisfaction. Answer internal and external customer inquiries in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. The ability to manage expedited and distressed freight, to meet and exceed customers’ expectations. Monitor key accounts; provide pickup and delivery information to customer. Assists service centers with granting requests for special delivery requirements. Handles #13 screen assignments for accessorial fees. Perform administrative duties in relationship to rates, quotes, and customer contracts Insures receipt of signed approvals for additional charges Provide support for Account Executives in response to customer’s needs and concerns. Traces freight for customers. Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Updates and provides reports as requested Performs routine duties with minimal supervision following standard practices or procedures; occasional check of work while in progress; work is reviewed upon completion. Job Requirements: The qualifications and requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily. Education/Experience Skills: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Relies on written and verbal communication. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Communicates internally and externally with service centers, sales force and customers – including dispatch, OS&D and Rates. Technical Experience: Specific industry or position skills. Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc. Preferred knowledge of AS/400 and Microsoft Office. Managerial Experience: None. Office Skills: Proficient typing, filing and ten key skills. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Specific Skills: None. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Prioritize tasks. Handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Physical Demands and Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Physical Demands: Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
