Responsibilities :

• Acts as a role model by utilizing individual lived experiences, advocacy, problem solving, coping techniques, and self-help strategies.
• Assists individuals in achieving increased community inclusion, participation, independence, and productivity.
• Services and activities will be completed in partnership with consumers and will be provided both within and outside normal hours of

operation.

Documents activities in an electronic medical record

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have received behavioral health services and have a severe or persistent mental illness.
• Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must have reliable means of transportation for community outings and transporting consumers.

Certifications :

• Must become certified as a Peer Support Specialist within six months.
