We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer as part of an ongoing contract in Washington, DC. This is a full-time, hybrid role three (3) days on-site two (2) days remote AFTER TRAINING.

Please note: Due to the secure nature of this government agency, all candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident and be eligible for a Public Trust clearance.

The successful candidate will receive a contingent offer based on the outcome of a government background check. This may take several weeks, and the candidate cannot begin actual employment until the background check is successfully completed.

The Senior Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure for both government and commercial clients. They will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of systems, while also providing technical leadership and guidance to junior team members.

Primary Duties:

• Design, implement, and maintain systems infrastructure, including servers, storage, and virtualization technologies.
• Lead system architecture planning and implementation efforts, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry best practices.
• Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support for system-related issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess technology needs, develop solutions, and implement improvements.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in systems engineering, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and performance.

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of server hardware, storage solutions, and virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Preferred certifications/education:

• Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or VMware Certified Professional.
