The Senior Systems Engineer with NAVSEA experience who will primarily support Combatants efforts for the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Chief Engineers (CHENG) Principals for Safety (PFS).

In this role you will need a strong background in supporting NAVSEA Engineers and their responsibilities regarding ship systems, and a working knowledge of the Navy’s Ship and Systems Safety efforts.

In this role, you will:

• Assist in the review of system safety engineering policies, directives, procedures.
• Assist in providing concise guidance and training to Program PFS’ in system safety engineering policy, methods, and standard practice.
• Conduct safety reviews in coordination with program PFS’ the interfacing Technical Warrant Holders and the Program Office.
• Review system safety plans and programmatic environment, safety, and health evaluations.
• Attend program office System Working Group meetings.
• Support the NAVSEA CHENG PFSs in preparation for flag-level meetings and safety boards.
• Review and evaluate information included in the Navy’s Electronic Hazard Assessment Report database (eHAR).
• Audit Program level PFS’s qualification packages to ensure they are correct and complete.
• Assist in knowledge sharing of system safety topics across the NAVSEA enterprise.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A four-year technical degree.
• Five to eight years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with NAVSEA operations and processes.
• The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
