Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Account Representatives are the front line of customer support for patients calling to resolve billing questions and issues while building effective relationships and trust with customers through listening, empathizing, and taking appropriate action. You will work over the phone with patients and perform the following duties:

  • Provide account information to customers including but not limited to: general questions regarding their services, account balances, payments to date, previous payment plan commitments, etc.
  • Assist customers in the reconciliation and payment of balances due on their accounts.
  • Perform maintenance, monitor payment plans, placement/removal of holds, and changes for all account types.
  • Provide timely resolution of customer complaints, concerns, and inquiries.
  • Build effective relationships and trust with customers by listening and taking any appropriate action.
  • Respond effectively to customers requesting payment plans by effectively negotiating appropriate payment plan level.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $16.00/hour with opportunities for growth/advancement with RFS’s Career Path Program.
  • Schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00AM – 5:00PM allowing time for work/life balance and opportunities for schedule adjustments to attend to personal obligations.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One to two years office experience preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Computer skills required: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite of products and Internet based software.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent work history and attendance record.
  • Must have no criminal record relating to financial issues.
  • Detail orientation and logical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
