Refine Search has beenretained to fill a Director, Transmission Development. Reporting to theSenior Director, Strategic Transmission Development, this role oversees allproject management functions on a suite of competitive transmission projectsacross the full range of complexity with total budgets up to $4 billionprimarily utilizing their EPC (Engineer, Procure, Construct) execution model. The position will be responsible for buildingand leading a team of 10 people.
·Develops,directs, guides and supervises all activities across the project lifecycle suchas financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review andfinancial negotiations.
oCoordinatesand allocates resources across projects and activities in accordance with thegoals of the program and organization.
oDevelopsgoals and metrics to assess and rank program risks.
oIdentifiesareas for improvement.
·Manages across functional team of land acquisition specialists, project managers andengineers to ensure that they are operating efficiently across groups andmeeting project needs.
oGrows teammembers by building strategic internal expertise in focused areas throughcoaching, counseling, mentoring and evaluation.
·Assessesprogram risks and team performance to maximize return on investment, minimizechanges and mitigate barriers, ensuring project goals are achieved acrosssafety, quality, cost, schedule, and team member performance.
·Managesprogram communications by leading executive update meetings and program stagegate review meetings to make communications transparent to internalstakeholders regarding project issues and decisions.
·Leads anddevelops project managers to ensure all assigned projects are initiated,planned, monitored and closed in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balancedapproach in accordance with both internal and external stakeholder processes.
·Supports,monitors and reinforces vendor and employee safety performance throughsafety-in-design, implementation, and recognition of improved process.
·Oversees anddirects project teams in managing external EPC, land, siting, and communicationvendors to ensure smooth operating rhythm.
·Overseesadditional internal teams to ensure projects progress across procurement,siting, legal, communications, safety and construction management.
·Translatescompany financial, commercial, technical, operating and risk management goalsinto effective contracting strategies and objectives.
·Serves as astakeholder lead during development with regulatory entities, landowners, NGOs,other utilities, communities, legal, etc.
·Bachelor’sdegree in business, Management, Project Management, Engineering or other jobrelated field from an accredited college or university
·PLUS ten(10) years of experience in two or more of the following areas: majorconstruction projects, project management, commissioning, project controlsand/or contract negotiations.
·In lieu of bachelor’sdegree, combination of college coursework and/or related experience in two ormore of the areas identified above equaling 14 years.
·PLUS five(5) years experience in progressively responsible supervisory/managementpositions with proven ability to develop and manage high performing teams.
