Rebecca School is Hiring a Maintenance Assistant Near New York, NY
Rebecca School, a New Story School located in Manhattan, NY is seeking a full time Maintenance Assistant who will be responsible for maintaining and promoting the care of our company property by performing general and preventative responsibilities in schools/offices and on building grounds.
Salary Range: $40,000- 44,000.00
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Complete daily and ongoing responsibilities and be able to prioritize quickly
o Communicate effectively with administration, staff, parents, students and vendors
o Know standards and regulations and be prepared for scheduled or unplanned inspections
o Handle minor repairs (including plumbing, electrical and carpentry)
o Work cooperatively with others
Daily Responsibilities
- Sweep & mop hallways
- Deliver supplies and snacks throughout school
- Replace light bulbs
- Remove garbage from classrooms and work areas 2x a day (after lunch & end of day)
- Children’s bathrooms to be cleaned 2x a day
- Adult bathrooms to be cleaned as necessary
- Re-supply bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels and soap
- Wipe down student & staff lounges
- Maintain reception area
- Make sure the conference room is clean and ready for meetings
- Schedule outside vendors for maintenance and repair when needed – note this must be approved by your supervisor in writing in advance

Meeting/Events
- As directed, set up tables and chairs in gym or elsewhere
- Arrange partition in gym when needed
- When event is finished, immediately replace room back to normal

- Bathrooms are cleaned and fully stocked with materials- Toilet paper, soap
Special Projects
- Painting (touch up as needed)
