About the Position:

Doyle Auctioneers & Appraisers is seeking a Building Maintenance Assistant. The Building Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Director of Facilities, Maintenance, and Safety in the upkeep of a 6-story office building. Full-time, in-house position. Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily and routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, to ensure the facility's optimal functioning
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the premises
• Perform a weekly cleaning of the back courtyard
• Address roof drains as needed
• Patch and paint various areas within the building
• Undertake general repairs and assist in more advanced repair projects
• Pack garbage and recycling, ensuring neat disposal on the sidewalk in line with NYC sanitation codes
• Execute routine maintenance activities, both indoors and outdoors, with potential travel to different locations
• Engage in heavy cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and/or vacuuming floors

Requirements:

• License is required
• Previous experience in building maintenance is a plus
• Familiarity with standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
• Proficient in using cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
• Capable of lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working at various heights
• Professional and responsible interaction with staff and clients
• Proficient in verbal and written English
• Dependable, consistent, and punctual attendance is required
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
