Raritan Valley Community College has an anticipated opening for a Director of Grants. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Innovation, the Director of Grants performs executive, advanced professional work providing leadership to Raritan Valley Community College's grant development and grants management activities, including the identification, development, and coordination of public and private grant development activities consistent with the College's mission, strategic plan, and strategic initiatives. Serves as the lead grant writer in support of institution-wide grant applications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee, develop, coordinate, and conduct grant development activities and monitors the proposal development and submission process to ensure that applications are aligned to the College's strategic plan, strategic initiatives, and funding priorities.
Write and coordinate the development of proposals and related documents required for grant submissions.
Oversee budget development for grants aligned with College policies, processes, and practice.
Conduct research to identify potential funding sources and opportunities and make recommendations for department/college consideration.
Conduct liaison activities with federal, state, and other government and private sector agencies with regard to securing funding for the College's programs.
Develop, implement, and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards for the management of college grants.
Participate in long-range planning of the College to ensure that applications for external funding meet critical institutional needs.
Oversee reporting and compliance timelines through the lifecycle for all grants.
Stay current in relation to changing grant standards and proposal guidelines in order to write and edit grants accordingly.
Ensure that overall grant-funded project performance, outcomes, related documentation, and reporting are in compliance with funding agencies and College requirements.
Work in collaboration and partnership with deans, directors, faculty, and staff to ensure successful management and implementation of all grant-funded projects.
Oversee the development and maintenance of a master file of pending, existing, and past grants.
Prepare annual reports related to all grants.
Oversee Grants Manager.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communication, or related field.
Seven to ten years' experience in progressive leadership experience in preparing, writing, and managing grant proposals and programs.
Five or more years' experience supervising employees.
Broad understanding of regulations and processes related to government grants and funding agencies.
Demonstrated track record of successfully securing Federal and/or State grants.
Direct experience with the writing of a Title III, Title V, and/or TRIO grant. Perkins grant experience required; Experience with NSF grants preferred.
Experience collaborating with multiple and diverse stakeholders to solve complex problems effectively.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in higher education, especially those connected to community college students.
