Job Title: Contract Registered Nurse, CVICU (Night Shift)

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) to join our team in Southfield, MI, for a contract position. As a CVICU Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to patients with cardiovascular conditions, including those undergoing open-heart surgeries and ECMO therapy.

Responsibilities:

• Providing direct patient care to individuals admitted to the CVICU, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention as necessary
• Collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients
• Monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and laboratory values to assess patients' condition and response to treatment
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and following established protocols
• Assisting with procedures such as intubation, central line placement, and chest tube insertion as needed
• Providing education and support to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment plan, and self-care techniques
• Documenting all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Michigan
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 6 month of nursing experience in a CVICU setting
• Experience with open-heart surgeries and ECMO therapy preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC, CRRT, NIH, and balloon pump certifications preferred
• Ability to float to other intensive care units (SICU, MICU, NTICU, SD) as needed
• Flexibility to work night shifts with daily staffing adjustments every 4 hours
• Basic dysrhythmia testing competency required
