The Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting the company through its anticipated rapid growth. The ideal person would be someone with a CPA and/or medical device industry exposure. If you are the type of person who enjoys a challenge which includes establishing new processes, and who can dig for information and problem solve independently while also interfacing with management, this could be a great role for you. This role will report to the Assistant Controller, with exposure to the Senior Leadership Team.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be:

• Provide management of all general accounting functions including accounts payables and accruals, fixed asset, and lead responsibility to ensure all general ledger transactions and journal entries are recorded in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

• Responsible for completion of monthly and quarterly financial close process including balance sheet reconciliations for all accounts in a timely and accurate manner.

• Coordinate with SEC Reporting and Financial Planning & Analysis and assist in the preparation and analysis of quarterly variance, budgets/forecasts vs actual variances and other ad hoc schedules.

• Coordinate with external auditors and SOX consultants for annual audits and reviews.

• Assist in managing compliance with state and local tax requirements for property, sales and use taxes.

• Apply a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure. Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and financial close processes and improve efficiency.

• Supervise, develop and mentor accounting staff, responsible for evaluating the performance of GL accounting personnel.

• Assist in other ad hoc projects including but not limited to system implementation and upgrade, local statutory/government audit, etc. 

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes: 

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

• 8-10 years accounting experience with exposure to the medical device, life sciences or high technology product industries.

• Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement successful and maintainable process changes that improve accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness.

• Strong communicator both verbal and written.

• Must excel in a fast-paced start-up type environment.

• Management experience required. 

The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $100,000 - $150,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
