Pay : $17-$20 / hourly

Shift : 1st (7 : 30a-4 : 30p) Monday through Friday.

The Field Service Assistant will be providing support and assistance to Customer Support Group, QA / QC Group, Production Group, Marketing Group, Procurement Group and Company Executives / Managers.

Will be expected to interact with customers at their job sites servicing machines; therefore, it is imperative that employees display a customer-first attitude, trustworthiness, kindness and positive attitude in the face of adversity and frustrated customers.

Training and development is a continuous part of this job, so employees must also have the motivation and aptitude to study and apply learned knowledge.

Responsibilities :

• Field Service for diesel generators and possibly portable air compressors. Experience with diesel engines and some electrical wiring work preferred.
• Correspond to external and internal customers' inquiries by receiving inbound calls and emails, while providing technical support consisting of technical troubleshooting, tracking calls, helping with the development of new processes and procedures to assist customers as needed.
• Repair and maintenance help along with warranty assistance to customers.
• Assist the parts departments with part identification and preparation of parts that need service setup prior to shipment from warehouse and customer use.
• Instill confidence in customers internally as well as externally through phone and email support.
• Use standard computer skills for administrative work and case tracking.
• Research technical issues with the help of internal and external resources.
• Warehouse and Inventory Control.
• Participate in industry events associations.
• Maintain product knowledge through training and continuing education.
• Create good will with customers or potential customers, employees, business partners and the general public.
• Assist the manager in working closely with purchasing & design on new component implementation and others.
• Negotiate with customers and outside vendors as appropriate.
• All other duties as assigned or directed by company management.

Additional requirements :

• Travel is frequently expected for this position.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Communication Proficiency
• Background with diesel engines, electrical generators, air compressors or similar education preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude
