We are currently looking for a US Logistics Manager who will be responsible to establish annual and strategic logistics objectives to achieve a world-class global supply chain management. Reporting to the Director of Logistics, this person will bring expertise in negotiation, change management and uses their leadership skills to create, influence and promote an environment where employees are engaged, empowered and committed to the success of the company. We are looking for a seasoned leader with excellent business acumen to manage all supplier related aspects of the logistics freight business, inbound and outbound to the US. The candidate will also be responsible for the optimization and management of transportation by developing excellent relationships with key providers. Responsibilities: The US Logistics Manager responsibilities will include: Safety & Environment Create and maintain a safety culture amongst all carriers and third-party facilities Responsible to ensure the safe handling of products, adhering to all local, provincial, federal regulations Ensure all health, safety and environmental incidents are recorded, complete with an analysis as to the root cause and the actions taken to ensure there are no repeats. Liaison with the Risk and Regulatory Affairs Director, ensuring compliance and adherence to all initiatives, policies and procedures Responsible to ensure site inspections for all warehouses and re-audit where necessary, to ensure they comply with all EH&S regulations and internal protocols Responsible to ensure compliance with all quality programs (ISO, GDP, BRC, RD, COR etc..) initiatives, policies and procedures, internal and external audits to ensure successful qualification within your region Carrier Management Develop strong relationships with key transportation providers to ensure the most cost-effective movement of materials while providing excellent customer service, in compliance with the regulations Analyze logistics trends to identify opportunities to lower costs and improve Quadra competitiveness and improve delivery performance. Ensure all carriers are managed properly, through procedures, from a safety, service and quality standpoint Responsible for all supply chain activities across the United States. Ensure deliveries are timely, that customer service is kept informed, that policies and procedures are followed, that opportunities for improvements are identified and implemented Closely align with the commercial team to optimize supply chain and assist in developing new business - Regular communication with sales, operations, logistics, customer service and procurement to identify areas for improvement in support of commercial activities Regularly analyze logistics trends to identify opportunities to lower costs and improve Quadra competitiveness and improve delivery performance Analyze supply chain to ensure we are providing the best service to our customers in the most cost-effective method Assist Logistics Coordinators in market knowledge, carrier management, evaluation and development as it relates to performance and rate negotiations. Ensure Quadra’s core values are present in all carrier dealings and team is constantly looking for ways to reduce costs and improve service Warehouse and Bulk Terminal Management Responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and selecting outside service providers based on the best overall strategy for the company Responsible for the development and maintenance of contracts with each provider with a focus on safety, environment, service and cost controls, while always portraying Quadra’s core values Maintaining strong relationships with current service providers while understanding and developing new relationships to stay well in tune with the marketplace Benchmark competitors’ capabilities, carriers and third parties to ensure we are a leader in the markets we chose to service. Look for opportunities to continue to grow our market share through the use or the acquisition of warehouses/terminals Responsible to develop the overall financial budget for the region, to ensure overall cost containment, and to meet corporate expense initiatives Ensure Warehouse and Bulk Terminal capabilities meet or exceed industry and customer requirements for cost, quality and responsiveness Work with the Logistic Team to ensure carriers, terminals and warehouses are meeting our service level targets and needs of our customers Develop KPI’s for providers and track results to push continuous improvement and assist in measuring viability of providers The ideal candidate will possess the following: Completed post-secondary degree or diploma in related field; additional professional designations are assets (i.e. CCLP, PLOG). Minimum of 10 years of leadership, management and team building experience. Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to engage and influence team and external partners Minimum 15 years’ experience in all modes of transport, warehousing and bulk terminal experience with a focus on managing food and pharmaceutical products Experience in managing budgets and costs, creating policies and performance indicators Excellent knowledge of quality programs (ISO, GDP, BRC, RD, COR etc.) as well as the transportation of hazardous materials (TDG, Hazmat) Excellent computer skills (JD Edwards or SAP and OTM experience preferred) and extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce Must be self-motivated, customer driven, dynamic and professional Ability to work independently and handle pressure Excellent presentation and communication skills. Participate in conference and/or trade shows as required When safe and reasonable, a willingness to travel overnight, up to 40% of the time Excellent problem-solving assistance and guidance including afterhours and weekend coverage (day to day emergencies) In addition to joining a talented team of passionate professionals, you will join a unique company culture that promotes professional and personal growth.
