Position Overview

Integrated Sensors Architecture (ISA) enables sensors and systems of any type to readily integrate into an existing network and dynamically share information and capabilities to improve situational awareness in a battlefield environment. ISA connects common standards and protocols, which support a net-centric system-of-systems integration. The ISA material solution is managed by the US Army PEO IEW&S as part of the Sensor Computing Environment.

The ISA Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for logical and systematic transformation of customer requirements and needs into a total system solution using the best of practice processes and techniques. Selected candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, participating on the ISA team for requirement designing, testing, integration, The candidate will interface with the customer on all processes involved in systems engineering.

Responsibilities

• Development of ISA product design descriptions, requirements and system test documentation, reports, and technical analyses against requirements
• Performing a wide range of systems engineering functions, including requirements management, verification, and validation (V&V), and test engineering, using expert knowledge of systems engineering or systems engineering management processes to guide product development teams.
• Conduct Data Mapping between various government and commercial data standards
• Verifying and validating system and component performance to specifications
• This is a hybrid position requiring regular on-site work at Fort Belvoir, VA
• Occasional domestic travel (< 10%) may be required
• Local travel within Virginia and Maryland may be required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical-Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering; MS preferred.
• At least ten years of relevant industry experience
• A proven track record as a systems engineer working on DoD development programs or in the field of sensors. 
• Experience with fielded DOD systems and/or prior work in the field of sensor architectures
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities and tasks over multiple projects
• Experience requirements management and traceability
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience with DOD, MOSA, IEEE, and/or IPC standards
• Knowledge and experience in systems engineering in the following areas:
• mission requirements analysis,
• data mapping,
• system hierarchy and specification tree development
• functional analysis
• systems integration
• requirements flow down and allocation
• system synthesis
• configuration definition and management
• risk analysis
• Experience with DOORS or an equivalent Requirement Management tool
• Working knowledge with LINUX and WINDOWS Operation Systems
• Experience with validation of complex systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
