CWMD Systems Engineer

EM Key Solutions seeks a Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Systems Engineer to provide critical applied scientific and technical analytic support to the Counterforce Systems Division in the Counter WMD Technologies Department of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). The Counterforce Systems Division develops, integrates, demonstrates, and transitions Counter-WMD advanced sensors, surveillance, and defeat target planning technologies, enabling the warfighter to hold WMD-related targets at risk. Specifically, this position directly supports the Vulnerability Assessment Protection Option (VAPO) Program Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• The candidate develops knowledge regarding technical issues by analyzing complex data sets and identifying actionable trends and problems.
• Demonstrates creative thinking and strong problem-solving skills; possesses proactive initiative and excellent communications and organizational skills.
• Prepares technical documentation and presentations to explain the approach-associated assumptions and designs develops and implements technical solutions that expedite program efforts and minimize unnecessary redundancy.

Required Qualifications:

• Must have excellent personal initiative, professional savviness, and interpersonal communication skills
• Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• 5-10 years of non-academic experience; demonstrated and proven success in applied engineering or other scientific or technical discipline.
• 5 years of project management experience. Must be able to apply technical expertise to costs of services, delivery schedules, and performance requirements.
• Experience with and understanding of the DoD Force Protection user community and mission space and applying force protection strategies. Ability to effectively coordinate and liaise with and across a broad US government user community.
• DoD Secret level clearance and the ability to maintain
• Travel required up to 10%
• Part-time telework is feasible as authorized by the government

Preferred Qualifications (e.g., Education, Certifications)

• Master's Degree and/or PE license in Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
• Program management experience with software projects
• Familiarity with research and development, testing, and evaluation

Clearance:

DoD Secret level clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
