Position Title: Sr. Systems Engineer – MicroelectronicsPosition Type: HYBRIDLocation: Alexandria/PentagonClearance Required: SecretResponsibilities:The Systems Engineer primary role is to support the Government Principal Director for Microelectronics in development of Microelectronics policy and guidance, standards, congressional reports, studies, interagency coordination, and strategy documents.
Lead content development for Microelectronics policy and guidance, standards, and issuance updates
Support Government Principal Director in development of strategy, issue papers, briefings, and funding options and alternatives
Lead development of reports, studies, and strategy documents mandated by Congress for the Department of Defense (DoD) Trusted and Assured Microelectronics (T&AM) program, the Microelectronics Commons program, and related Microelectronics activities
Review and coordinate on DoD Issuances for Hardware Assurance and Microelectronics considerations
Coordinate with T&AM Technical Execution Leads on technical and programmatic issues and opportunities
Assist with evaluation of technical approaches to solving assurance issues facing the DoD weapon system acquisition community
Engage stakeholder community across Services, industry, and academia to identify microelectronics technologies and applications that align with T&AM program objectives
Develop and/or provide input and recommendations to Microelectronics abstracts, briefs, information papers, and whitepapers
Develop content for responses to external inquiries (e.g., GAO, DoD Office of the Inspector General, NSC, Congressional)
Requirements:
Secret security clearance
Degree(s) in an engineering discipline or related field
BS and 15 years of experience; Master’s and 12 years of experience; PhD and 9 years of experience
Experience in preparing, coordinating, and presenting briefings
Experience at OSD, the Joint Staff, or Service HQ staff
Demonstrated knowledge of the DoD organizational structure and budgeting process, OSD inter-office coordination, and communication protocols
Desired:
Degree(s) in electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, or related field
Experience in planning and coordination of technical reviews, panels, or similar meetings with diverse participants
Experience in quantitative methods for hardware assurance, supply chain risk management, or policy and standards development
At least 10 years of DoD acquisition experience
At least 5 years working in microelectronics design, semiconductor device fabrication and/or foundry operations, radiation-hardened electronics, radio frequency electronics, electro-optical electronics, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), defense electronics industrial base or related areas
Top Secret security clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
