Purestar Group is Hiring a Production Manager Near Orlando, FL

Production Manager

We are looking to hire a Shift Manager for our laundry facility located in our Orlando Plant location! Immediate hire, competitive pay based on experience.

This position ensures that daily production is as efficient as possible and makes sure that the client’s linen is processed accurately and delivered according to schedule, while developing and training staff to work efficiently, safely and producing a high quality product.

Responsibilities/Purpose:

Oversees the entire linen plant and ensures operation is efficient while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Essential Functions:

· Is responsible for all production operations, employees, area managers, janitorial, and security. In absence of the Plant Manager, Chief Engineer, or General Manager may oversee drivers and engineers

· Schedules work flow throughout the plant to ensure delivery windows are met

· Supervises work activities for all departments

· Monitors, tracks, and reports hours worked for all plant employees to ensure only the allocated time for their shift is utilized. Whenever any overtime is needed he/she must get preapproval by the Plant Manager or General Manager

· Sets up the plant 30 minutes prior to startup and stays 30 - 60 minutes after his/her shift to assure everything was communicated to the next Shift Manager. Inspects the plant for cleanliness and then he/she submits the Shift Managers summary reports

· Monitors and controls that the quality program is being properly enforced within each department

· Coordinates movement of employees to best enable the plant to meet its daily demand

· Provides coverage within a department whenever an Area Manager doesn’t show up to work

· Maintains a working knowledge of all equipment and reports any equipment breakdowns or suspected concerns immediately

· Communicates and coordinates plant functions with the plant manager

· Responsible for final lock-up and security of the plant

· Insures subordinates practice safety procedures, regulations, and any other procedures that may pertain to the department worked in, at all times

· Monitors productivity within each department to ensure daily demands are met

· Assists with un-jamming machinery and contacts engineering when needed

· Reports potential and existing safety problems and violations of company polices immediately to the Plant Manager or General Manager

· Makes sure all proper PPE is being worn as required in their department

· Works closely with Service Department to ensure deliveries get out complete and in a timely manner

· He/she does the accident investigations and fills out accident reports whenever an accident occurs and arranges proper transportation for the injured

· Responsible for cutting and staying within the budgeted hours

· Handles special projects that are assigned by his/her supervisor or customer

· Issues disciplinary notices when required

· Works with union shop stewards or representatives

· Handles any city inspections in absence of the Plant Manager, Chief Engineer, or General Manager

· Handles unscheduled customer visits

Education:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required, some college preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 -5 years experience in a production environment

Abilities:

  • Strong written and verbal communications required
  • Ability to asses’ situations and make decisions quickly
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Bilingual, preferred.
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Able to understand and complete basic math.
  • Must read and write in English. 

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Holidays
  • Night shift
  • On call

Physical / Mental Requirements:

  • May be at an industrial setting with hot/cold environment and distracting noise levels.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Follow all lawful employer safety and health rules. 
  • Wear and / or use Personal Protective Equipment, when and how instructed. 
  • Report hazardous conditions to management. 
  • Report any job-related injury or illness to management and seek treatment promptly. 
  • Other duties as requested.
