What you get to do:
This role is a leadership position overseeing the Stage Manager team in Entertainment at SeaWorld Orlando. As a Production Stage Manager, you'll take on a variety of responsibilities to ensure that the Entertainment Stage Management team is set up for success. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide leadership, training, and coaching to all Stage Managers in Entertainment at SeaWorld Orlando.
  • Create, maintain, and facilitate a standardized training program for new and existing members of the Stage Manager team.
  • Assist with the implementation and sustainability of standardized venue documentation including SOPs, training checklists, and reference materials.
  • Effectively familiarize with all roles and responsibilities of the Stage Manager position and fill operational holes based on business needs.
  • Conduct routine one-on-one sessions with direct reports to enhance the support structure, provide ongoing feedback, and assist with Stage Manager growth and development.
  • Participate in annual performance review process for all direct reports.
  • Act as a liaison between salaried leadership and members of the hourly leadership team, effectively making operational decisions and completing action items on behalf of the salaried team when directed to do so.
  • Participate in the Entertainment Duty Phone program, filtering daily operational phone calls as needed.
  • Participate in the Entertainment MOD program as needed to support the daily operation of Consumer Events.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
  • At least 3 years of experience in Entertainment leadership or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of Entertainment show production and Stage Management.
  • Working knowledge of the disciplines involved in Entertainment based events and productions to include production, design, technical and administrative elements.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills and be able to reinforce those skills among direct reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and employee schedule programs.
  • Demonstration of excellent oral and written communication skills, to include public speaking and ability to readily adjust for audience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive projects and issues.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
What else is important:
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift and climb/ascend heights, if needed.
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing).
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat. Position may be exposed to fumes, dust, odors, and cold/heat temperature extremes.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Work a flexible schedule/hour based on business need, to include opening, mid-, and closing shifts; nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possession of a valid state driver's license is required.
