Project Renewal is Hiring a Director, Project Management Near New York, NY

Title: Director, Project Management
Salary: $120-130K
Position Overview:
As a key player in our strategic initiative, you'll help Project Renewal to increase project success and help PRI’s mission to end the cycle of homelessness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Oversee project deliverables in alignment with the overall program timeline and goals.
  • Develop and integrate comprehensive project plans and roadmaps for all project stages.
  • Ensure the creation of essential project artifacts, such as charters, plans, rosters, maps, issue logs, RACIs, and weekly reports.
  • Track and manage project risks and issues, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to address potential challenges and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Identify and secure the required resources for projects throughout their life cycle.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure adequate staffing and raise concerns about resource constraints when necessary.
  • Work closely with sponsors and leads to develop detailed project budgets (Capital and Operational).
  • Monitor project expenditures and burn rates, ensuring financial accountability.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and manage a robust project governance model.
  • Schedule and facilitate project meetings, providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage purchases and procurements.

Qualifications
  • Experience managing and leading multiple large, complex IT projects for non-profits with various funding sources, management of third party vendors, external stakeholders, multi-level project team organization, deployment to geographically diverse end users.
  • Experience developing and executing project plans, including management of Charter, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Communication, Change, Risk, Issue, Resource management plans, and managing the plans throughout the project management lifecycle from initiation through closeout.
  • Experience in developing and managing formal project schedules in a project tracking tool, such as Microsoft Project, including tracking progress and variances against baselines utilizing both Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies; using standard PM techniques (e.g., scrum sessions) to update project schedule; and presenting schedule/status updates to key stakeholders.
  • Experience developing, writing, and managing detailed Scope Documents, reviewing project deliverables and managing the deliverables acceptance process, and using the project scope and deliverable management process to manage the project change request process.
  • Experience with project quality planning, quality assurance, end-to-end system testing, quality control, user acceptance testing (UAT) performance and metrics management, and quality governance.
  • Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) AND PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
  • Experience with purchasing, contracts, and procurement.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • Certified Project Management certification (PMP, PMI-ACP a plus).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and to set/meet administrative and production deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, independent contractors, and vendors.
  • Must be detail-oriented and dedicated to high-quality performance and output.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work on multiple projects while problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Windows-based programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Vision, and Adobe PDF.
Physical requirements:
  • Please note that this hybrid position will require you to come into our New York Office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and one other day each week.
  • Travel to other sites in New York City may be required.
All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
