Service Desk Technician Intro
The Service Desk Technician is a vital role within the IS / IT Operations Support department, focused on ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of the company's desktop computing environment.
This position is responsible for handling first and second level support tasks, managing ticket queues, and implementing technical infrastructure projects.
This role demands a proactive approach to maintaining and enhancing user computing experiences, with a strong emphasis on customer service.
Service Desk Technician Job Details
The Service Desk Technician will be engaged in a variety of responsibilities including monitoring and resolving Level 1 tickets, escalating Level 2 tickets, and supporting end-user environments within the corporate firewall.
This includes managing devices such as desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals, as well as telecommunication equipment like VOIP phones and video conference systems.
The technician will ensure these systems are secure and operate efficiently, handle asset management software tools, and provide technical support and troubleshooting for both hardware and software issues.
Service Desk Technician Mandatory Skills
- Full experience with Active Directory
- Proficient in PC hardware troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experienced in using ticketing systems, preferably ServiceNow
- Proactive attitude in managing tasks and resolving issues
Service Desk Technician Desired Skills
- Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
- Certifications in Microsoft technologies (MCSE, MCSA, MTA)
- Experience with Linux network fundamentals
- Knowledge of DNS, FTP, SMTP, TCP / IP, LDAP
- ITIL certification
- Experience in an agile operations environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (MS Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online)
