PRN Ambulance is Hiring a Field Manager Near North Hills, CA

Job Summary:

The position of Field Manager requires excellent skills in time management and prioritizing. In addition to being a role model for all field employees and setting the standards for excellent customer service and skills, the manager will be able to pass along their knowledge and experience while building teaching and coaching skills. Field Managers have the responsibility of working effectively with the General Manager, ensuring all tasks that are assigned to them are completed, and to effectively communicate with the field and upper management, while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Employees considered for Field Manager have demonstrated and maintained consistent behaviors such as: an excellent work ethic, superior documentation, outstanding customer service, positive attitude and excellent patient care skills. The Field Manager shall maintain their clinical certification as an EMT or Paramedic.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Operations:
    • Help maintain clean and orderly station(s)
    • Human Resources, Scheduling, and Dispatch liaison for the crews
    • Responsible for complete, accurate field paperwork including vehicle accident paperwork
    • Assist in ensuring proper vehicle maintenance with the General Manager and support staff
    • Monitor station inventory for vehicles and station supplies
    • Perform random Patient Care Report audits at the regional level
    • Follow up on all training and/or safety issues and relay all information to the General Manager
    • Responsible for all duties of primary job: Paramedic, RN, EMT, and FTO, as well as other related duties deemed necessary to meet operational needs
    • Thorough knowledge of all job functions in the station(s)
    • Understand the metrics the Company uses to grade its performance and strives to improve them
    • Assist with all operational challenges
    • Act as a witness for investigatory meetings
  • Training:
    • Act as the information resource to current and new hire employees
    • Train the Trainer classes as assigned
  • Supervision:
    • Assist and troubleshoot when field employees contact them. If needed, reach out to the General Manager, or relevant department for assistance
    • Disseminates warnings and discipline as directed by the General Manager
    • Identify employees in need of remedial training and inform the Training Department and General Manager of findings
    • Improve field employees morale through positive communication
  • Safety:
    • Ensure injury/exposure protocol is followed
  • Administration:
    • Keep up to date on new policies/procedures, equipment or protocol updates and distribute information as required
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the field
  • Prior supervisor or management experience strongly preferred
  • Paramedic preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Maintain all certifications relevant to clinical level
  • Obtain any and all county accreditation as required by the Company
  • Demonstrated understanding/proficiency of their current job duties and the ability to perform them
  • Must be competent in operating a computer and using basic applications
  • Attend Management and Leadership training
  • In good standing with the Company
  • Portray a positive company image to all personnel
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong organizational skills and time management
  • Maintain current industry standards through continuing education
  • Possess valid certification in all applicable Incident Command Structure courses
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of all county policies and protocols
  • Maintain composure and professionalism in stressful situations (whether it be with a patient, employee or interactions with the union)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and recognize upcoming problems

Physical Requirements:

  • With assistance of partner, lifts patient on stretcher to gurney height for transport through building, occasionally up or down stairs
  • Load and unload patient on gurney into and from ambulance
  • Push or pull patient on gurney on uneven surfaces, up and down inclines, and around obstacles to get patient to and from the ambulance
  • Lift 35 pounds in each hand to transport equipment from ambulance to location of patient
  • Ascend and descend stairways carrying 35 pounds in each hand to get to patient location to provide treatment
  • Lift (with assistance) a 75 to 150-pound oxygen cylinder into the ambulance
  • Conduct patient care tasks while stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
  • Perform CPR correctly (in accordance with AHA standards) for 60 seconds
  • Communicate verbally to patients, dispatchers, physicians, and coworkers in transmitting and gathering information
  • Hear information transmitted verbally by phone or radio
  • Adequate vision required to be able to read information from printed sources and computer screens, as well as color vision and fields of vision to perform job functions, in addition with the ability to see to drive and read street, vehicle or building marking
  • Hands to finger, feel and administer patient care duties, as well as heavy computer usage
  • Must have ability to step up and/ or climb over obstacles
  • Must have adequate hand and finger dexterity to grip and hold both large and small items
  • Must have adequate hand and arm strength to grip and lift heavy objects
  • Must be able to tolerate work in an outdoor environment (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
