POSITION: NICU/PICU FTO
REPORTS TO: Field Manager in conjunction with Director of Training
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Job Summary:
NICU/PICU Field Training Officers (FTOs) are responsible for training new and existing employees how to operate on specialty NICU or PICU shifts. Employees will be assigned to NICU/PICU Field Training Officers by the Training Department Management staff. Field Training Officers are responsible to train these employees on all aspects of the NICU/PICU shift operation through on the job training and in conformance with the training program for field employees.
NICU/PICU Field Training Officers are also responsible for properly completing the Training Documentation with the trainee, and processing the documentation to the Training Management team. The NICU/PICU Field Training Officer will report to the training department management team on each trainee’s progress to determine the success of their training.
This position will be compensated with a training stipend for every trainee who the NICU/PICU Field Training Officer evaluates. Training commissions will be paid regardless of the trainee’s final status. Once the trainee completes their evaluation, and all paperwork has been filed properly, the NICU/PICU FTO will receive their training stipend.
Train employees on all aspects of NICU/PICU Operations including but not limited to:
Properly complete and process training checklists
Perform all other duties as assigned
Satisfactory completion of Probationary Period In good standing with the Company Portrays a positive Company image and attitude to all personnel Excellent communication and customer service skills Minimum of 6 months experience working as an EMT No significant discipline within the last 6 months on both discipline and attendance Must have full time availability Must work NICU/PICU shifts to maintain FTO status
Note: Your ability to work a NICU/PICU shift may be lost if the EMT fails to meet these requirements, fails to represent the company in a professional manner, or has significant disciplinary action taken against them at any time. Eligibility to continue as a NICU/PICU EMT will be reevaluated prior to the start of each shift bid.
NICU/PICU FTO status will be lost if the NICU/PICU FTO, fails to bid on a specialty NICU or PICU shift, represent the department in a professional manner or has significant disciplinary action taken against them at any time during their FTO status, training and non-training related.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry 250 Lbs. infrequently (1-3 times per shift) Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry 150 Lbs. frequently (5-10 times per shift) Must have ability to step up and/ or climb over obstacles Must be able to climb stairs while carrying up to 150 Lbs. Must have adequate hearing acuity to perform job tasks (as delineated in California DMV DL51 medical examination requirements) Must have adequate vision (with corrective lenses if needed) to clearly distinguish colors, shapes, distances, etc. (as delineated in California DMV DL51 medical examination requirements) Must have adequate hand and finger dexterity to grip and hold both large and small items Must have adequate hand and arm strength to grip and lift heavy objects Must be able to tolerate work in an outdoor environment (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
