DISPATCHER

PRN Ambulance is the premier provider of comprehensive medical transport services in Los Angeles. With a customer-friendly vision and cutting-edge technological solutions, PRN Ambulance has an aggressive and strategic growth plan, and we are looking to bring on a committed and qualified Dispatcher for our North Hills station.

We are looking to bring on an experienced Dispatcher responsible for evaluating and triaging all transport requests and deploying the most appropriate resource(s). This position validates familiarity with Company service areas and medical faculties and the Dispatcher must demonstrate the highest level of customer service while coordinating each request. Dispatchers must be able to accurately gather and enter required information into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

Primary functions of the Dispatcher:

  • Promptly answer, evaluate and prioritize incoming requests for service while communicating effectively with all callers
  • Demonstrate the ability to professionally “control” difficult interactions and effectively direct the flow of the conversation
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills with both internal and external customers
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor
  • Excellent Customer Service, Verbal, Written and Interpersonal communication skills
  • Simultaneously document all phone and radio transactions using a computer aided dispatch (CAD) program
  • Operate multi-line computerized phone system as well as radio communication equipment
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Company service areas and medical facilities
  • Possess exceptional knowledge of service area geography, roadways and traffic patterns
  • Deactivate field crews via the radio and CAD System, confirming that all paperwork including items such as DAL, PCR/EPCR, PCSs and FACE sheets are received
  • Notifies appropriate management or Pre-Bill team when field crews are missing paperwork
  • Assist with troubleshooting an inability to receive paperwork and advise appropriate managerial and/or IT personnel
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current EMT, EMD, or ETC Certification
  • Current CPR card
  • 35 wpm is required
  • Customer service experience strongly preferred
  • Multi-line telephone experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for an extended period of time and wear a telephone headset
  • Requires frequent repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, reaching and grasping
  • Must be able to hear and communicate clearly to perform job duties in person and over the telephone
  • Adequate vision required to be able to read information from printed sources and computer screens
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting strict deadlines
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
