The Bar Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our bar. Daily responsibilities include working with the General Manager in creating the cocktail, spirit and beer lists, establishing and upholding standards of service in the bar room and training and inspiring FOH staff as it pertains to the bar program at our establishment.

The Bar Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with the FOH and BOH management to ensure cross-departmental enrichment and support.

The Bar Manager acts as a mentor to the bar team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Tend Bar 4-5 days / week
• Product Management
• Design cocktail list and curate product lists.
• Establish pricing sufficient to attain the cost of goods budget goal.
• Maintain physical inventory and lead monthly inventory accounting.
• Track ordering needs in collaboration with Wine Orders. Process invoices for bar products, including beer, spirits, non-alcoholic beverages as well as coffee and tea.
• Maintain updated menus on the POS.
• Design and oversee prep schedule for production of cocktail ingredients and stocking of the bar on a daily basis.
• Oversee the maintenance of the wine, spirit and beer "Low List"
• Staff Training and Development
• Lead training sessions (i.e. spirit words) for FOH staff.
• Conduct bar training for new FOH staff.
• Continue personal development through an on-going pursuit of product knowledge and industry news.
• Encourage bar team to grow in their pursuit of product knowledge and professional development.
• Lead quarterly staff meetings with bar team.

• Teach monthly cocktail classes.
• Close the restaurant as needed.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with planning and preparation for special events, private events and holidays as directed by GM.

EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

• 3 years Bartending Experience in like minded establishment
• Passion for the work you do
• Respect for your co-workers, managers, guests, and vendors
• Enjoy teaching and learning and working as a Team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift up to 40lbs of wine and or liquor cases
• Ability to work on feet for 6 12 hours a day
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and reach in tight space behind the bar
