Busy University Student Health Center is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant preferably with a minimum of 2 years of recent primary care or urgent care experience and phlebotomy training. Candidate must be reliable; flexible; demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with clients, staff and providers; take initiative with assigned daily tasks; work independently and efficiently; and be able to work cohesively and enthusiastically with other team members. *Must be able to work until 6 pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Greet and check patients in
• Build, prepare and file charts
• Answer phones, field calls
• Verifying insurance
• Process medical records release requests
• Collect and post payments
• Prepare, clean and restock front office, exam rooms and patient areas
• Maintain and clean equipment, including sterilization as needed
• Obtain accurate height, weight, history, medication list and record vital signs of patient
• Administer IM or SC injections as ordered
• Provide first-aid, wound care, dressings, splints and instruct on crutch-walking as directed
• Assist with scheduling of off-site treatments and procedures
• Prepare referrals to outside specialists
• Complete Prior Authorizations
• Perform blood draws/obtain lab specimens
• Complete in-house laboratory testing
• Demonstrate universal precautions
• Maintain strict patient confidentiality

Must have reliable transportation and maintain professional appearance at all times.

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
