PTR is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and collaborative Accounts Payable Lead to join our team. This role is not only about managing financial transactions but also about being a flexible, versatile, and empathetic leader who can adapt to changing priorities and build bridges with colleagues. As a front-line leader, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting data-driven reporting and business decisions. This position requires versatility, technical expertise, and the ability to serve as a liaison and translator between teams. 

In addition to the technical skills and experience required, this role demands a candidate who can adapt, collaborate, and serve as a thought partner and leader in a dynamic business environment. Your ability to understand team dynamics, balance conflicting priorities, and facilitate effective communication will be essential in this position. 

COMPENSATION

This position has a competitive compensation package that is a combination of base salary plus profit sharing paid quarterly after 1 year of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take ownership of activities and operations within the accounts payable function, ensuring the timely payment of vendor invoices. 
  • Supervise and lead team members, including conducting performance evaluations, setting goals, and directing daily tasks. 
  • Conduct final reviews of accounts payable activities, ensuring proper approval and general ledger account coding. 
  • Initiate approved payment transactions on a weekly basis, including wire transfers, ACH payments, checks, and virtual card payments, while providing necessary reporting and support. 
  • Act as a resource for the accounts payable team, offering guidance on documentation, accounting issues, and invoice processing as needed. 
  • Prepare tax form 1099 for applicable vendors. 
  • Review employee expense reports in the expense management system and create monthly journal entries. 
  • Administer the corporate travel card program, which includes setting up employee profiles, selecting approvers, ordering corporate cards, and monitoring card limits as required. 
  • Provide new employee training on expense reporting and accounts payable invoice review and approval. 
  • Support internal process improvement initiatives when requested. 
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned; the job description is not exhaustive. 
REQUIREMENTS
  • A relevant degree is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in account payable. 
  • Proven experience in supervising and leading other accounts payable staff. 
  • Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment with changing priorities. 
  • Strong critical thinking skills, meticulous attention to detail, and superb organizational abilities. 
  • Exceptional team player with the capacity to effectively engage with personnel at all levels of the business unit. 
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of company and employee information. 
  • Proficiency in analytical and time management skills. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with financial software systems such as D365 – Finance & Operations, Concur, and Dooap is nice to have.
