PLI is searching for a technology professional to fill the role of DevOps Engineer (responsibilities and qualifications are described below) Work in a collaborative environment with a diverse, employee community where staff enjoy a generous benefits package and a genuine commitment to a work-life balance (4 weeks of paid time off and hybrid remote/in-person schedules for most roles). This position requires previous experience working in an agile environment along with the ability to provision and maintain application environments, including build and release of software applications that will support PLI business initiatives.
The DevOps Engineer will support development, test, staging and productions environments for web, desktop and mobile applications. In addition, the Engineer will support environments to support integration with software-as-a-service applications and all layers of the application such as front-end, database and back-end.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and support strategies and tools related to software configuration/ deployment, software build, continuous integration, and test automation and release automation.
• Design and implement high performing, redundant, and self-healing systems to ensure the highest uptime.
• Develop monitoring and runbook solutions to maintain critical system reliability.
• Provide direct support to developers on build errors, production application deficiencies, configuration issues, and revision control issues.
• Test both load and performance to ensure we're prepared to handle long term demands.
• Maintain source control (branching, merging, conflicts)
• Setup and maintain the application environments (Dev, Test, Stage, Production) including automated environment provisioning. Manage release and deployment workflows/pipeline, deployment plans, schedule and execute installation of new modules, upgrades and fixes to the environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot application related issues under the technology stacks used by PLI.
• Other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in DevOps, or particularly impressive experience of shorter duration.
• Comfortable with collaboration and open communication with the ability to reach across the organization, vendors and partners.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in configuration management of application and database Servers. Should be well versed in managing OS configuration for both LINUX and Windows Servers.
• Experience in managing database releases using tools.
• Experience in Release governance with proper Access Control processes and settings.
• Experience in devising roll-back strategy / mechanisms for failed releases and ability to produce and maintain runbooks / workbooks for Release and Roll-backs.
• Experience in managing resources in one or more of the major cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/Google)
• Knowledge of shell scripts is a must.
• Some development experience is preferred.
• Keeps up to date with market trends and other changes in technology.

COMPENSATION RANGE FOR THIS POSITION
$133,000 - $138,000 per annum
(Exact compensation offer may vary based on the candidate's job-related skills and work experience.)
