Powertrain Control Solutions is Hiring a Bookkeeper/Office Manager Near Ashland, VA

An Ashland based engineering company has an immediate opening for a Bookkeeper/Office Manager to manage all aspects of their financial operations. Reporting directly to the president, this position will be responsible for performing bookkeeping functions using QuickBooks Enterprise Edition, handling accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, managing customer invoicing, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, remitting monthly sales taxes, and fulfilling periodic government filings. Additionally, this role will involve human resource functions such as onboarding new staff and acting as a company liaison for payroll and benefits information for approximately 70 current employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize QuickBooks Enterprise Edition to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
  • Manage payroll processing, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Remit monthly sales tax payments and prepare periodic government filings as required.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing paperwork and coordinating training sessions.
  • Serve as a company liaison for payroll and benefits information, addressing employee inquiries and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Enterprise Edition and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing and tax regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be willing/able to work on-site.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,536.20 - $64,839.29 per year
