Power Probe Group, an MGL International Company is Hiring an Accounts Receivable Clerk Near Charlotte, NC

What you will do for us: The Accounts Receivable Clerk will assist in ensuring that clients are properly billed, the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients, and in filing monthly sales tax returns.

As a holding company for companies around the world, including brands such as Power Probe, C-Logic and KPS, we design, manufacture, and sell instruments used for testing and measurement of electricity - tools used by your local auto mechanic, electrician, or HVAC repair technician. Among MGL Group’s brands is Power Probe, a well-known American brand that in 2022 moved its U.S. operations from Los Angeles to Charlotte. Power Probe started in California in 1992 and was later incorporated into MGL Group. This transaction gave Power Probe the resources to start doing business internationally in countries such as Mexico, Latin America, Spain, the UK, France, Germany, Australia, and Japan.

Duties/Responsibilities:

· Maintains and updates customer files, including W-9 forms, mailing attentions, payment terms, credit limits, and resale certificates by State.

· Verifies and creates invoices according to accounting principles; submits invoices to customers.

· Prepares, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivables.

· Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the customer service department and other staff.

· Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment.

· Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.

· Computes sales tax payable from SAP sales tax report, prepares sales tax filing working paper and assists in periodically fillings.

· Assists in generating monthly sales statements based on the general ledger.

· Assists Controller in audit projects.

· Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

· None.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Accounting software; strongly prefer experience with SAP ERP system.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, calculator, and copier.

· Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent AND successful completion of college-level Intermediate Accounting course required;

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred along with 1 – 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, talking on the phone, and working on a computer.

· This role is based in Charlotte, NC, and requires daily office visits. It is not a remote position.

Job Details:

· Hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday, with some flexibility on scheduling.

· This position reports to the Controller in MGL Group headquarters office in Taiwan.

· Role occasionally requires an after-hours Teams meeting with the Accounting Group in Taiwan.
