Central Turf & Irrigation Supply is Hiring a Store Manager Near Nanuet, NY

The Store Manager is responsible for the performance and growth of the location, through hands-on management of all operational and business components, including staff management and internal and external sales. The Store Manager maintains working hours that reflect the business hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Personnel and Staffing:

  • Trains, coaches, motivates, monitors performance daily, and through quarterly individual staff performance reviews. Develops store personnel for increased responsibilities. Identifies and troubleshoots areas of performance needing improvement and sets an action plan to address issues.
  • Ensures that employees are performing their assignments efficiently and safely, and within company standards and procedures.
  • Follows proper dress code for self and staff.
  • Schedule staff in an efficient way, providing appropriate staff levels while minimizing overtime usage.

Business Development:

  • Solicits new business, cares for the existing customers, and builds solid relationships with the customer base
  • Establishes calling list for inside sales, and measures progress on sales strategies
  • Actively manages the inside and outside sales staff
  • Understands the area’s market to include trends, customers, and suppliers
  • Attends functions for the organizations we hold membership in locally

Customer Service:

  • Ensures that the store maintains a high level of excellent customer service by furnishing information to customers about products and services we offer, as well as suggesting solutions to customers.
  • Timely ordering of store supplies and manufacturing catalogues.
  • Oversee counter sales and order fulfillment to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Inventory and Order Fulfillment:

  • Responsible for all areas of inventory, sometimes through supervision of staff who will check transfers, receive products in a timely manner, report shortages immediately, and personally double checking all large quantity receiving or selling.
  • Makes sure products are available and are deliverable in a timely manner; monitors backorders and follows-up to ensure timely satisfaction.
  • Establishes daily delivery schedule and monitors accuracy of orders to be delivered.
  • Responsible for inventory, controlling proper order levels, timely receiving and cycle count accuracy

Financial:

  • Establish, support and review customers’ credit limits, manages receivables, minimizes price overrides and verifies payments on COD orders

General Management:

  • Plans, schedules, delegates, organizes and directs the daily activities of the store, in line with regional strategies and company guidelines.
  • Responsible for ensuring that company vehicles are being properly maintained for both safety and appearance.
  • Makes sure store is open and ready for business according to corporate-stated business hours.
  • Maintains store appearance and cleanliness, ensuring tidiness and consistent store layout.
  • Makes sure all business licenses are valid.
  • Maintains good internal control practices with respect to keys and alarm codes, per company policy.

QUALIFICATIONS – Work Experience requirements

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of irrigation industry and/or the landscape industry
  • Must have at least 5 years of demonstrated success as a store manager or equivalent and have at least 5 years experience of demonstrated success in the irrigation and/or green industry
  • Must be able to delegate to employees, and follow up on task completion in a professional manner
  • Must exhibit strong, consistent customer experience skills, and be polite, professional and able to communicate effectively
  • Needs to lead by example and be respected by his subordinates
  • Must have full knowledge of all Company policy and procedures, including safety policies and procedures.

The Company has determined that the regular job duties of this position require and impose various physical demands. The physical requirements for this position include the following: Requires consistently lifting large and heavy boxes, bags and pipe and to repeatedly load and unload large boxes throughout shift. Must have ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. safely without assistance and to push and pull up to 150 lbs. with appropriate equipment. Requires significant demands on these physical requirements throughout entire work shift and requires tasks to be performed in all types of weather conditions.
