Portland Community College is Hiring an Office Assistant II - Student Development Near Portland, OR

Position is currently located at Southeast Campus; location may change based on the needs of the students and the office.
Portland Community College, Southeast Campus - is seeking to fill a full-time Office Assistant (OA II) position within Student Development. This position performs a wide variety of office and administrative functions, primarily in support of Pathway Advising, including basic knowledge and referrals to Student Accounts, Enrollment Services, Orientation, Testing and many other areas within Student Development.
The Office Assistant may be one of the first contacts to students when they arrive at PCC. In addition, the Office Assistant may support students, staff, or faculty with initial problem-solving, triaging situations, and connecting to college resources as needed.
Proficiency in the full range of general office services and functions as well as specific technical knowledge, especially in the area of database and confidential reporting is desired. In addition, this position is responsible for training and scheduling of student staff to provide peer-to-peer engagement and development supporting student success.
This position works closely with the Pathway Guidance Manager (PGM), Southeast Campus.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).

High school diploma or equivalent.

Three years of office assistant experience (college or business school training may be substituted for up to two years of the experience requirement).

Starting Salary Expectations
The first two steps of the range are: $38,923 to $40,091 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Positions in this job family typically work in an office setting but may be assigned more physical duties such as transporting office supplies and equipment. Position involves sitting for extended periods of time while working at a computer terminal. Some positions may involve limited local travel.
