Phalen Leadership Academies is Hiring a Campus Operations Manager Near Washington, DC

 

The Opportunity: PLA's School Operations Managers (SOMs) are excellent at providing oversight of non-instructional functions such as campus safety, maintenance, food services, etc. The SOM will lead the implementation and maintenance of clear operational systems and a supportive school environment that allows the school leadership team to focus on instruction and teachers to focus on families. 

The Details:

Key Deliverables: 

  • Acts as the operational partner to each Principal in assigned territory
  • Leads and coordinates non-instructional initiatives at a campus to deliver great support and partnership
  • Manages, trains, and evaluates non-instructional campus personnel
  • Oversees and coordinates all non-academic school operations, including maintenance, grounds, security, custodial services, technology, school safety, school nutrition, transportation, and fixed assets for a group of schools to help remove obstacles to teaching and learning
  • Researches and implements region and campus-based policies and procedures to make decisions collaboratively with the Regional Director of Campus Operations, School Leaders, and Regional Directors of Academics

Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-8 years of experience working in a K-12 setting
  • Facilitates and building maintenance experience highly preferred 
  • At least 3 years managing a small team or multiple large projects
  • Strong willingness to serve in a strategic operations leadership role with PLA
  • High level of comfort with financial oversight and budgetary tracking
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple and competing priorities

Campus:Hope Community PCS - Tolson is a public charter school in Washington, D.C. that was founded in 2006 and recently joined the PLA network in 2022. We serve about 250 scholars from PK - 8th grade with a school population that is reflective of the strength and diversity of the community in which we are privileged to serve. We pride ourselves on our STEAM-focused learning that results in scholars taking risks, engaging in learning, and having ownership of their education.
