Persistent Systems is Hiring a Social Media Strategist Near New York, NY
Job Description & Responsibilities
Persistent Systems is looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Strategist who will oversee the social media platforms of Persistent Systems and deliver strategic external messaging campaigns. The Strategist will work with the marketing team and senior leadership to develop relevant social media content to support business objectives, including, but not limited to, increasing brand recognition, improving web traffic, amplifying strategic messaging, and raising awareness of key programs and company objectives. This position is based in Persistent Systems’ New York City headquarters.
Position Responsibilities
- Generate, edit, publish, and share daily content (original text, images, or video) that is consistent with the Persistent Systems’ brand identity and image
- Possess a strong knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube
- Monitor channels to identify two-way conversation opportunities and trends with followers and fans
- Monitor customer and competitor channels to identify opportunities to join conversations and build audiences
- Analyze social media content performance metrics and provide recommendations and insights to the enterprise-wide digital team
- Contribute to a comprehensive editorial calendar across all social media
- Write and edit content to ensure a consistent brand voice, message, and conversation
- Utilize industry best practices and familiarity with the organization's mission to inspire ideas and content
- Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization
- Stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies
Job Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in the Defense & Aerospace industry
- A minimum of five years of communications experience with social media, writing and editing internal and external content
- Fundamental understanding of social media for business with the ability to rapidly become proficient using new software and online tools
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to pull together large, integrated communications campaigns
- Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance

- Knowledge of SEO based practices
- Familiarity with digital communications tools like Sprout Social
- Ability to calmly work under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively with Senior Leadership as must
- Ability to take feedback and creative criticism professionally, using it to refine projects
