Payscale is Hiring a Deal Desk Analyst II Near Seattle, WA

 What We Do:
The Deal Operations team’s mission is to help our Sales and Customer Success teams drive revenue more efficiently throughout the deal negotiation process. We do so by owning Payscale’s quote-to-cash tools and optimizing internal cross-functional collaboration with scalable processes, documentation and inter-department project management.
Within Deal Operations, the Deal Desk team’s primary focus is individual deal management, including quoting support and navigating the approval and execution of the company’s most legally and financially complex, non-standard deals.
What You Do: The Deal Desk Analyst processes requests through a Salesforce queue to create, review and send Quotes, Order Forms and negotiated legal documents for the Sales and Customer Success teams. Deal Desk Analysts work with Finance, Legal, Services, Products and Pricing and the various internal Operations teams (Sales, Customer Success, Salesforce) closely to troubleshoot errors with quote-to-cash tools and to coordinate approvals for and execute non-standard deals.
Day-in-the-Life: As a Deal Desk Analyst, a typical day may include the following
  • Creating and updating complex Quotes in Salesforce CPQ according to the Revenue and Customer Success Approval Matrix.
  • Processing requests via email and Salesforce queues to update language, formatting and/or Order details on an Order Form within SLAs.
  • Coordinating with Finance or Legal to approve non-standard requests and then set up CPQ and Salesforce accordingly in order to execute.
  • Reviewing, compiling, and sending clean copies of contracts for signature via DocuSign.
First Year in Role:
  • Month 3: Within 3 months, you will have a working understanding of quoting in Salesforce CPQ and how to identify and escalate the non-standard requests that require additional approvals and Legal, Finance and/or Product and Pricing engagement. You will have mastered internal team processes for picking up and dispositioning requests so that you are proactively picking up new tickets within your scope.
  • Month 6: Within 6 months, you will be able to handle nearly all standard requests self-sufficiently and non-standard requests with minimal supervision or additional guidance.
  • Month 12: Within 12 months, you will be adding to the “Deal Desk Manual” as you encounter new requests and recommending and implementing process improvements for the team.
Experience:
  • 2 years in a Sales support, contracting, or Deal Desk role
  • Experience with quoting in Salesforce
  • Experience with contract negotiations and/or SaaS accounting principles, a plus!
Skills:
  • Organization to keep up with multiple open requests while waiting for responses
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively under pressure when everything feels urgent, especially at end of quarter
  • Effective communication across various departments and levels in the organization
  • Ability to discuss CPQ errors with Salesforce developers, a plus!
Tools:
  • Salesforce, especially CPQ
  • Microsoft Word
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • DocuSign, or similar tool
