Community Instruction Coordinator: AmeriCorps Service Member

Program Description:
Pattison’s Academy is an education and therapeutic academy providing comprehensive, year-round programs to support children with disabilities and their families. Our collaborative model integrates therapy and education to create a unique, individualized and intensive learning environment for every child that enters our doors. In pursuit of our goals, we are recruiting individuals to become AmeriCorps service members to directly serve our incredible students and families!
Member Duties:
- Collaborate on the creation, integration and implementation of a Community Based Instruction (CBI) curriculum for classroom and community instruction.
- Provide opportunities for students to explore daily living, leisure and vocational activities.
- Lead the curriculum lessons and facilitate the programmatic activities.
- Foster relationships with community partners for event opportunities.
- Plan and facilitate community events and activities that align with the goals of each student and camper.
- Plan and facilitate in-house CBI activities.
- Create take home activities for families to implement with students.
Service Term: August 14th, 2023-July 31st, 2024.
Service Schedule: 20-35 hours per week

Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 17 years of age or older.
- Have or be working towards a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
- Satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria.
Member Benefits:
