SUMMARY:

Medical Patient Service Representative/Access Specialist (PSR/AS) greets patients, schedules services and answers phones as directed by established clinical and policy procedures. The PSR/AS is responsible for answering inquiries and obtaining information from general public, patients, and other interested parties.
This position is 30 hours per week and includes our generous benefits package.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High school education or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
· Knowledge of Epic, Forward, Passport, Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Excellent oral communication skills.
· Excellent telephone etiquette.
· Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
· Bilingual: Spanish/English preferred.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· Required to submit to initial TB screening and biennially thereafter.
· Partnership Community Health Center (PCHC) will provide Hepatitis B, measles, varicella and rubella vaccination. Candidate may decline by providing record of vaccination or titer from previous employer.
· Completion and participation in quality, safety and compliance training and processes.
· Attend training and complete computer-based training by specified dates.
· Receive satisfactory results from urine drug screening and a pre-employment background check.
· Adhere to PCHC’s Attendance and Tardiness procedure.
· Required to work scheduled hours.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare front desk for day or end of day by following the guidelines established by PCHC to ensure a good patient experience.
2. Answer phone calls to address the needs of the caller according to PCHC protocol, which could include scheduling and rescheduling of appointments or answering patient questions.
3. Greet patients in a friendly manner to verify demographic information and insurance verification. This is done to confirm patient information for billing and other departments so that the patient appointment is completed in a timely manner.
4. Understand and communicate PCHC’s Financial Policy to patients so patients can bring the necessary information with them to their appointment.
5. Collect payments from patients and provide receipts to patients according to PCHC protocol for the patients own records.
6. Scanning of medical documents in Epic to secure the information.
7. Dispense pre-order medications and obtain signature of patient upon receipt to confirm the patient received their medication.
8. Practice safety, environmental and/or infection control methods for the safety of patients and staff.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
