Location: Nampa, Idaho (on-site)

The Opportunity:
The People & Culture Generalist is responsible for providing People & Culture services to the management and employees in Pacific Northwest Regional Operating Center (ROC), which primarily covers Idaho as well as a few locations in Wyoming and Nevada. Key focus areas for the position include recruitment and terminations, employee support, legal compliance, and administrative duties. The work duties range from routine to complex and creative.
Over time, the incumbent is expected to be able to develop the skills and experience sufficient to take on responsibilities of the People & Culture Manager as delegated.
Responsibilities:
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS
  • Adopts and consistently demonstrates the organizational culture of Parkland USA.
  • Communicates effectively with all employees to help inform, education, train, motivate, and hold others accountable.
  • Develops strong working relations with managers and employees. Informs and collaborates with others as necessary.
  • Resolves employee and external stakeholder complaints in a timely and professional manner while escalating internally as needed.
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
  • Helps ensure a safe environment consistent with Parkland's rules and regulations along with local, state, and federal legislation.
  • Demonstrates competence as a human resources (HR) professional in both tactile processes and strategic thinking.
  • Does the "heavy lift" of the administrative duties for all aspects of the People & Culture department, ensuring legal and process compliance.
  • Maintains accurate employee records, HRIS data, and other personnel documentation.
  • Investigates HR issues and complaints, and collaborates with management and the People & Culture Manager on resolution.
  • Is responsible for the full life cycle recruiting and onboarding process of new and promotional employees.
  • Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the People & Culture department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed/provided.
  • Sets priorities and meet deadlines. Is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work. Engages in self-direction and personal motivation.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Timely completes documentation requirements, while being responsible for technical accuracy of completed documents. Additionally demonstrates effective written communication.
  • Committed to getting the job done in a fast paced, high-performing environment. Willing to "roll up sleeves" and focus on execution and meeting challenging targets as needed.
  • Understands the system of internal stakeholders and appropriately utilizes those supports.
  • Maintains confidentiality of Company, employee, and customer information, sharing information on a need to know or right to know basis.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Occasionally travels by conventional means within the region and to other locations.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools, and payroll and human resources software. Preferential consideration may be given to applicants with UKG software experience.
  • Intermediate level in MS Office, Excel, Power Point, Word, Office, and Adobe.
  • Able to fluently read and write English

  • In an 8-hour day, the position will include 1-4 hours standing/walking and 6-8 hours sitting. Position will include simple grasping, fine manipulation, pushing & pulling, finger dexterity, and foot movement. There may be some exposure to noise typically experienced in an office environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources / related field (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in Human Resources, including a good understanding of HR principles, practices, standards, legal regulations, and employment law (required)
