Reports To: VP, RxARECARE Operations

Purpose:

The Director of RxARECARE Operations leads and develops staff to support operational goals as well as to ensure that all performance standards are maintained or exceeded. The Director provides leadership in the business and personnel development of Pharmacy Operations and Reimbursement teams and oversees all associated operational processes and procedures. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and serves as direct report for the distribution and reimbursement staff. 
  • Hires, trains, and reviews staff necessary to support the distribution and reimbursement teams.
  • Holds annual performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Establishes and manages performance goals for all staff in report to structure.
  • Identifies training needs for all staff in report to structure and work with corresponding department heads to roll out training plan for new hires with associated required annual competencies.
  • Hires, schedules, and oversees pharmacy students and interns.
  • Hosts team meetings with a documented focus of reaching established department goals.
  • Identifies system of measurable outcomes to be reviewed on a yearly basis.
  • Maintains inventory per financial and strategic guidelines.
  • Oversees inventory replenishment and management process for accounts with associated reporting.
  • Builds work practice documents for all established titles in report to structure.
  • Designs and manages workflow for current book of business.
  • Oversees packing of shipments.
  • Acts as the Order Management or Fulfillment Pharmacist as needed.
  • Assists as the Order Management or Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician as needed.
  • Handles pharmacy benefit management audits per designated work practice document.
  • Verifies billing is correct for all prescription dispenses associated with strategic partnership relationships.
  • Oversees paid time off requests and staff scheduling within department.
  • Serves as resource for claim adjudication questions and for navigating the payer landscape. 
  • Works closely with the business development teams to forecast staffing and operational needs.
  • Coordinates redundancy of pharmacist licensure to ensure continuity of operations.
  • Oversees renewal of pharmacy licenses prior to expiration and document with appropriate systems and partners.
  • Maintains Language Line Contract or suitable alternative based on target patient populations.
  • Manages and maintains telephony hardware and strategy.
  • Maintains pharmacy labels per client & regulatory guidelines.
  • Oversees and coordinates proper maintenance of related departmental equipment.
  • Maintains and reports on operations scorecard. Develop scorecards or performance measurement tools where needed.
  • Partners with Program Managers and Senior Management for limited distribution portfolio to quickly prioritize, solution and implement feedback from manufacturer partners.
  • Partners with Account Management department to ensure ongoing management and enhancement to existing programs and services.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications:

  • PharmD or RPh.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of specialty pharmacy operations experience.

Work Environment:

PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy offers flexibility only to eligible employees to work hybrid or remotely without compromising work performance, productivity, or team collaboration. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
