Duquesne University is Hiring an Assistant Director - Center for Student Involvement and Union Operations Near Pittsburgh, PA

This is professional work in the area of student organization services within the Center for Student Involvement. The Center for Student Involvement also consists of Freshman Development, Orientation, Parent Relations, Greek Life, Disability Services, First Generation Programs, Assessment, Student Government, Program Council, Union Operations, and Commuter Affairs.
Work involves assisting the Dean of Students with advising student organizations and all University events served by the office and to assist in the development, promotion, and administration of the programs of the office. Work is done with considerable independence within established guidelines. Work is reviewed by the Dean of Students through reports, conferences, and observation of results.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists 250 student organizations in positive and realistic self-appraisal, organizational development, and appropriate programming choices.
Oversees the process of creating new and recognized student organizations.
Oversees Adopt a Night programming the NiteSpot.

Oversees the CampusLink software platform for student organizations.
Coordinates the fall and spring student organization expos.

Serves as liaison with other Academic Advisors, faculty, and other University offices.
Assists in the development, promotion, and execution of programs designed to assist student body.
Assists with operational aspects of Student Union.
Develops statistical reports to show student organization and programming numbers.
Completes other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:
Master’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
Two years of related work experience in students’ services or programming.
Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Knowledge of student involvement policies and requirements; available student services; and regulations of the University.
Knowledge of the techniques and procedures involved in organization advisement.
Knowledge of and ability to use various software packages to perform duties. This could include word processing, spreadsheet, and mainframe applications.
Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and administration.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of individual records.
Ability and willingness to work evening and weekends as needed and required.
