Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President of Pan Pacific Cement, this position will be responsible for selling and technical assistance for Cement products within California & Nevada markets while focusing on growing prospective customers to increase market share and improving profit margins.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop new business partnerships for Pan Pacific Cement sales
· Continue to build on these partnerships to create lasting business relationships with prospective and existing customers
· Excellent client communications with ability to drive details from prospecting and pipeline development to closing (entire sales cycle)
· Forecast sales and communicate with operations to ensure availability of inventory at cement terminal
· Identify, understand , an gather information on the market place
· Assist in preparing presentations for periodic budget reviews
· Be involved in trade associations, area chambers and state and local meetings to ensure Pan Pacific Cements presence in the community we serve
· Become subject matter expert on cement products
· Self-motivated with the ability to meet and exceed sales budgets
· Ability to identify areas of improvement and implement more efficient process knowledge and experience preferred with in the cement, fly ash/pozzolans, or concrete industries
· Ability to develop and service customers and work independently out of an unsupervised office or residence as needed
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5 years material sales experience or related experience in the construction materials industry
· Degree in engineering, construction or similar technical-related field preferred
Minimum Qualifications
· 3 to 5 year sales experience
· Ability to communicate effectively both in written and during face-to-face interactions
· Proven successful territory management and sales experience
· Strong organizational skills, excellent time management skills and ability to work unsupervised
· A Valid driver’s license is REQUIRED.
· Must be able to travel locally on a regular basis to maintain a consistent presence with the marketplace
· Proficient in MS Office Suites(MS word and Excel) and other software packages relevant to the position
· Ability to multi-task and be adept at problem solving quickly
· Ability to read and interpret technical information and job specifications to ensure the customer’s needs are meet
· Involved in professional/civic organizations in the community
Preferred
· Experience working in a construction material organization or related industry
· Cement, Ready Mix, Aggregate Sales experience a plus
· Experience with SAP software
· Familiarity with specifications for construction materials, specifically including Caltrans, ASTM, and Greenbook standards
· Construction Management or related industry experience a plus
