Sales Support Specialist
Classification: Hourly
Reports to: Sales Manager

Summary
This position will involve assisting in the day-to-day sales activities with a focus on data entry and support functions for the sales team. This role’s responsibilities include assisting the sales department in gaining and keeping customers by supporting order entry, coordination of quotes, and providing customer service. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently or in a team environment, employ critical thinking and use good judgment in decision-making.
Essential Functions/Duties
Creating and processing orders in a timely manner, processing requests for rush orders, and reviewing pending orders and customer requests to ensure customer satisfaction.
Answering customer inquiries, scheduling meetings, and sales appointments, and following up with customers about their order status.
Developing and monitoring performance indicators for sales and staff members, managing sales tracking tools, and compiling reports.
Managing customer accounts, following up with customers for administrative purposes, and providing troubleshooting assistance for orders, account statuses, and other problems.
Performing data entry tasks for sales figures, metrics, and other relevant information and maintaining an organized and accessible filing system.
Reporting any out of the ordinary activity to supervision for further review and troubleshooting.

1. Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly, demonstrate excellent attention to detail and employ time management techniques that ensure that deadlines are met or exceeded.
2. Proven team working and motivational aptitude.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications as well as solid operational level computer and typing skills. Ability to quickly learn and adapt to the use of new or previously unused software is critical.
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
5. Solid customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships is required.
6. An understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
Physical/Cognitive Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility is required. Position also requires the ability to lift boxes, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Required Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
Preferred Education and Experience
1. 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role preferred
2. Experience in administration and high-volume office work may be advantageous.
3. Manufacturing and Sales organization experience a plus
