Company Benefits

Opeeka offers a full range of competitive Company benefits to eligible employees.

Vacation

Full-time employees are eligible to earn and accrue vacation upon the first day of work. All full-time employees are eligible to accrue at least 80 hours of paid vacation time annually, and annual vacation time increases based on tenure.

Sick Time

All employees will be granted 5 days (40 hours) of paid sick leave in a lump sum at the time of hire and subsequently, at the beginning of each year on January 1st. Employees may begin to use paid sick leave on their 90th day of employment (or sooner, if applicable law requires). Employees can use up to 5 days (40 hours) of paid sick leave per year.

Holiday Pay

Upon hire, all employees will receive holiday pay for the Company observed holidays, which includes all Federal Holidays and the day after Thanksgiving.

Medical Insurance Benefits

Opeeka provides the option of a comprehensive medical insurance plan for eligible full-time employees and their dependents. Employees are eligible to enroll in the medical program on the first of the month following 30 days of continuous employment. The Company will pay a portion of the medical insurance premium, up to $550 per employee and up to $450 for covered dependent(s). Medical insurance benefits are available to employees, the employee’s spouse or registered domestic partner, and the employee’s legal dependents.

Dental and Vision Benefits

Eligible full-time employees may also enroll in an employee only, an employee plus children or a family contract on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Retirement Plan

Opeeka provides all employees who complete 90 days of employment with a SIMPLE IRA plan which is an excellent means of long-term savings for your retirement. For eligible employees, the Company will contribute a dollar-for-dollar contribution match, up to 3% of the employee’s annual compensation.


Job Summary

Conducts various Human Resource functions including but not limited to, assisting with recruiting and hiring, new employee onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing, compensation analysis, and performance evaluations. Provides direct support to the CFO and dotted line support to executive staff and managers with in the Company. Administers Company records and manages HR & Payroll software systems. Possess knowledge of federal and state labor laws, Human Resources best practices, and payroll accounting. Seeks the council of Human Resources expert consultation when necessary. Conducts all tasks with unquestioned confidentiality and candor.

Opeeka’s main office is located in Folsom California, right next to Lake Natoma, walking and bike trails, and several restaurant options within walking distance.


Duties &
Responsibilities (includes but are not limited to):

  • Assists with posting positions, screening applications and scheduling interviews with hiring managers.
  • Manages and continually improves new employee onboarding process.
  • Completes background checks and E-Verify associated with new employees.
  • Distributes HR policies and procedures and monitors compliance.
  • Assigns and monitors completion of all Company required training.
  • Responds to questions from employees related to payroll, benefits, and/or other HR matters.
  • Coordinates with various benefits administrators to enroll new employees in Company healthcare and retirement plans.
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll and completes associated labor allocation analyses.
  • Reviews and approves employee expense reports.
  • Conducts routine and ad-hoc payroll and benefit expense forecasts.
  • Monitors and audits time off accruals to ensure accuracy. Calculates paid time off expense accounting accruals.
  • Conducts routine analysis of time logs associated with various projects.
  • Conducts compensation benchmarking and assists with analysis to establish Company compensation plans.
  • Assists with creating and drives implementation of Company communications to employees. Assists with creating and maintaining a strong and productive Company culture.
  • Administers and audits workplace safety plans.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Human Resources policies.
  • Gathers and analyzes data using useful HR metrics (e.g., time to hire, employee satisfaction, turnover rates).
  • Assists with administration of annual performance reviews.
  • Organizes, compiles, and updates company personnel records and documentation (digitally).
  • Assist with various HR projects.


Financial Responsibilities:

  • Processes payroll with utmost care and confidentiality.
  • Assists with periodic and annual Company budget/planning processes.
  • Tracks and monitors actual labor hours associated with projects to ensure labor costs stay within approved project budget.
  • Conducts and prepares reports associated with Customer projects that contractually require time tracking per Statement of Work.
  • Reviews and approves expense reports using Company policies. Assists with drafting and implementing new expense policies as Company grows and evolves.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Federal and State labor laws and regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of labor laws related expect and non-exempt classifications and California wage and overtime law.
  • Knowledge of various interpersonal communication styles and personality types.
  • Familiar with recruiting best practices and labor laws related to employee recruiting.
  • Payroll accounting, including wages, payroll taxes, employee benefits, garnishments, etc.
  • Understanding of how an organization’s vision, mission, and values impact results/performance.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree is Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in Human Resources and/or Payroll Administration within an entity of 20 or more employees.
  • Must be highly proficient in MS Office 365.
  • Highly experienced using Microsoft Excel. Able to construct mid to expert level functions and create and maintain Excel Pivot Tables.
  • Experience processing payroll using web based software system(s). Experience with Paycom preferred.
  • Experience maintaining employee records and administering various processes within a Human Resources Software Information system.
