There is an exciting opportunity to join the LEVEL Hotels team in Chicago, IL as the Director of Sales. This position is responsible for sales activities including managing the sales team, strategic planning and contribution to the profitable operation of the property.

Job Description:

  • Leads, manages, and develops the sales team to achieve revenue and occupancy goals.
  • Develops the annual sales plan and budget, including establishing room rates and revenue and occupancy targets as agreed upon by the revenue team and ownership.
  • Conducts weekly reviews of activities with sales staff, monthly reviews of revenues and competitive stats, and annual performance reviews.
  • Provides weekly updates of sales activities to management and ownership.
  • Attends weekly ownership meetings, revenue meetings, operations meetings, and other departmental meetings as appropriate, providing reports of sales activities & strategies.
  • Researches, identifies, targets, and solidifies new business in assigned markets and provides support to sales staff in their assigned markets.
  • Works with revenue team to maximize yield and ensure best revenue management practices.
  • Collaborates with marketing and revenue team to create and implement packages and promotions.
  • Develops customer, community, and industry relationships.
  • Seeks and establishes partnership and sponsorship deals as appropriate.
  • Maintains client and guest databases, with a focus on digital marketing strategies.
  • Works with revenue and operations teams to ensure repeat business is encouraged and rewarded.
  • Assigns markets and territories to sales staff to maximize productivity.
  • Participates in trade shows, family trips, entertainment of clients, and industry events.
  • Liaises with sales and marketing suppliers and negotiates favorable terms.
  • Communicates, supports, and demonstrates the philosophy, culture, vision, values, and branding of LEVEL Chicago in all aspects of sales and marketing.
  • Acts as a gatekeeper of the LEVEL brand and ensures all communications, sales materials, and website content meet branding standards.
  • Provides expertise, support,s, and assistance to Onni Group as required
  • Develops and maintains a customer database within US Corporate Market, Consulting/Project Relocations, Insurance, Entertainment, and Health and Government.
  • Develop and promote product image and awareness by direct mail campaigns and attendance of key travel and tourism tradeshows.
  • Perform daily telephone solicitations to new and existing accounts/customers.
  • Prepare sales proposals to clients incorporating clearly defined terms and conditions.
  • Establish an effective sales call cycle for key customers, partners, and contacts.
  • Applicants must be able to communicate information and ideas clearly. They must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle everyday situations quickly and effectively.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Summary of Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the hotel industry, preferably in luxury hospitality property
  • Minimum 3 years experience serving in senior management team capacity.
  • Experience in negotiating and dealing with large national accounts.
  • Strong understanding of annual budgets and monthly forecasting
  • Management experience in relocation, hospitality, property management, corporate housing, travel, or real estate is a plus
  • Proven history of success managing both sales and operations-focused team members.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Must be a fast-paced, independent, motivated self-starter with a drive to succeed.
  • Strong people and relationship management skills, and able to lead diverse teams.
  • Able to effectively multi-task, delegate, and facilitate.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit is a definite asset.
