Agoro Carbon Alliance encourages the shift to sustainable/regenerative farming practices by providing knowledge and financial support to farmers. Through these changes in practices, more carbon is sequestered on the ground, improving soil health and farm/ranches’ productivity. 

Agoro Carbon addresses a key global problem, the impact of agriculture’s global greenhouse gas emissions on our climate and the implementation of sustainable carbon capturing potential at farms while providing a new income stream to farmers worldwide. Our passion lies in developing a carbon alliance built around a portfolio of carbon smart farming practices that help farmers reduce their environmental footprint. 

What You’ll be Doing

  • Create and execute a sales strategy to meet Agoro’s monthly, quarterly, and annual customer acquisition and profit goals for the sales team.
  • Build and lead a sales team to produce results and achieve individual and team KPI. This includes but is not limited to hiring, training, and managing the sales team.
  • Use data and metrics to measure results and, based on that data adjust, and implement new concepts. Drive full adoption of our CRM by emphasizing the value of it throughout the sales organization.
  • Design and support sales forecasting process to support finance teams with accurate revenue projections.
  • Operate in a matrixed environment with the ability to get things done by effectively working with other teams in the organization (Grower Success Team, Marketing, Contract teams. etc.)
  • Evaluate opportunity pipelines including analyzing needs and prioritizing team resources to improve pipeline results.
  • Assist in development of sales and marketing budget and subsequently ensures adherence to the budget numbers.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing departments to ensure cohesive and effective strategies for sales results.
  • Develop and cultivate positive relationships with customers at all levels of their organization and influence decision makers within various disciplines at the customer to build and maintain rapport with customer decision makers to provide extraordinary customer service and identify new business opportunities and guide the team to do the same.
  • Understand customers’ business strategy, decision-making process, and customer culture to develop a path for negotiating and closing new business opportunities and guide the team to do the same.
  • Support regional and national trade shows, conferences, expos, and marketing events.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor degree in Agronomy, Ag Business or Ag related field. Master degree may be an advantage 
  • 7 to 10 years working experience managing sales roles in similar industries, preferably with value added fertilizers exposure and digital tools experience 
  • Leadership experience required. Demonstrated experience in leading and inspiring sales teams. 
  • Entrepreneur who has led the successful startup of a new business venture 
  • Extensive travelling requiring a valid driver’s license 
  • Proven leadership and people management skills 
  • Excellent business orientation and acumen 
  • Solid market and customer knowledge 
  • Strong commercial forecasting and risk analysis skills 
  • Excellent negotiation skills 
  • Well-developed communication skills 
  • Good customer service and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong management skills 
  • Proficient in MS office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, as well as social media tools, such as Twitter, and LinkedIn
